TESTIMONIALS

After working with Erica Amdahl, I realized what a knowledgeable and qualified audiologist can do for you. I am now very happy with the hearing aids I got from Erica and the outstanding service she has given me. It more than about hearing, It’s about a better quality of life for myself and my family. “How much of a joy it is to see the same cheerful face every time and not have a different tech every time like it was at the previous hearing company. A very good fit. There is no whistling like I had previously. No wind noise and the price was right. You are treated like a part of the family. P.S. Very well satisfied.” James Liebrenz

Dr. Erica Amdahl - Audiologist

I grew up in the small farming community of Rushville, IL population 3300 just 30 minutes south of Macomb, IL home of Western Illinois University. My parents Charles and Linda Fleck still live there as well as my brother Charlie and his wife Chanda. My family told me a few years ago that they always knew I would travel and leave Rushville.
I graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL in 2001 with my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders. From there I moved to Baton Rouge, LA to work on my Master’s degree in Communication Disorders, at Louisiana State University. After graduation in 2003, I decided to stay down south and started working for two Ear Nose and Throat Physicians out of Lafayette, LA. It was a wonderful experience and I was extremely fortunate to work with both Dr. Chastant and Dr. Joseph. Each doctor provided a unique perspective concerning hearing loss and provided me with a solid foundation to start my audiology career.

Toward the end of 2004, I was given an opportunity to move to St. Cloud, Minnesota to work for Micro-Tech, a hearing aid manufacturer, as their Government Sales Audiologist. This opportunity was presented around the time I became engaged to my now husband, Kevin. In this new role, I was given the task to train Veteran Affairs Audiologists across the country on current hearing aid technology and software. I was a speaker at numerous national training seminars providing continuing education credits for both VA and private sector audiologists. Occasionally, some VA Audiologists requested onsite support for their difficult patient fittings. My position at Micro-Tech provided me with the expertise on hearing aid capabilities and the ability to push them to their limits.

This leads me to my current position as owner of Amdahl Hearing, wife to Kevin and step-mom to Jesse (11 years) and Katie (8 yrs). In 2007, the profession of Audiology decided to become a doctoring profession. Under this new requirement, I decided to go back to school part-time to obtain my doctorate. I am able to achieve this online through A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ with a projected graduation date of March 2009.

In my spare time, I enjoy hunting and fishing with my family and spending time with my dog, Sophie.
